Your questions

Frequently asked questions

How does the flatshare lease work?

Each housemate signs their own furnished lease, in their name, for their room and access to the shared areas. There is no joint liability clause: you are only responsible for your own rent.

How long is the lease? Can I leave early?

The lease is for one year. For a furnished rental, you can leave at any time by giving one month's notice (law of 6 July 1989, article 25-8).

What does the price shown include?

The price shown covers the rent and the monthly provision for charges. Details of the charges are set out in the lease. The deposit and fees are shown on each listing.

Can I get APL housing benefit?

Yes, our rooms are eligible for CAF housing benefit, subject to income conditions. You can run a simulation on caf.fr.

What documents do I need for my application?

ID, tax notice and supporting documents for your situation (employee, student, self-employed), as well as those of your guarantor. See the full list on the Application documents page.

Do I need a guarantor?

Yes. If you do not have a guarantor, the Visale guarantee (free, provided by Action Logement) or Garantme are accepted. We help you with the process.

How much is the deposit?

It is equal to one month's rent excluding charges. It is returned after you leave, within the time limits set by law.

What are the agency fees?

Fees are shown on each listing and capped by law. The full schedule is available on the Fees page.

Are the rooms furnished?

Yes: each room is furnished (bed, desk, storage) and the shared areas are equipped. Details are given on each listing.

Is home insurance compulsory?

Yes, each housemate must insure their room and provide the certificate when moving in, then every year.

Can I visit without being in Bordeaux?

Yes, we organise video viewings. Mention it in your viewing request.
